Assistant Instructor Program – Ski & Snowboard (Ages 13–14)
Get ready to play a key role on snow! This program prepares motivated youth to support certified instructors in teaching ski and snowboard lessons. Participants build solid foundations in teaching skills, technique, safety awareness, and effective communication to elevate the experience of beginner and intermediate students.
Eligibility
- Age: 13–14
- Level: intermediate to advanced in skiing or snowboarding
- Profile: passion for teaching, clear communication, team player, positive attitude
- No prior teaching experience required
Learning Objectives
- Understand the role of an assistant instructor and professional ethics
- Strengthen technical fundamentals (ski and/or snowboard) for beginner/intermediate students
- Apply safety principles on trails and in learning areas
- Develop clear communication methods for different age groups
- Support the instructor with group management, demos, and feedback
- Prepare for future instructor training (e.g., CSIA/CASI)
Format & Content
- On-snow practical workshops + short theory capsules
- Active lesson observation and supervised assistance with certified instructors
- Exercises in demos, giving directions, and student feedback
- Modules: safety & prevention, technique, pedagogy, group management, guest service
